TNT Vacations]

Project]
TNT Vacations, New England's leading vacation company, offers vacation packages to the Caribbean.

TNT engaged us to design and build the front-end of a new, transactional site where passengers can match their travel needs with the right Caribbean vacation, check for availability, and then book their vacations online.  Challenges included designing a site that allows travelers and agents with broadly diverse travel requirements and experience to book the right vacation based on their own unique needs. Integration with Sabre and internal reservation provided additional constraints.

Redesigned site went live March, 2001.

Approach]
  • Conducted competitive assessment and user interviews with vacationers, travel agents, and internal reservation agents to define user requirements and target audience characteristics
  • Developed TNT Vacations' brand positioning in order to design a new look and feel
  • Designed the information architecture, user scenarios, and created the visual design to expand upon TNT's brand character
  • Developed the business logic for personalization, searching, matching, checking availability and purchasing with internal systems and Sabre
  • Developed all the pages for the site to support the site's robust profiling and personalization features

Services]
  • Support for initial sell-in to client
  • Project scoping, resource planning, and budget development
  • Creative Direction, design, and content development
  • Ongoing oversight of user research, requirements, creative solution, written content, and information architecture
  • Experience Design client representative/champion
